Broadway Station Multi-use Building
MP-Squared Structural Engineers provided the structural engineering for this 40,000 square foot building located in Madison, Wisconsin. The building is a two-story steel structure consisting of two halves connected by a covered pedestrian bridge. This project was designed using a combination of diaphragms and interior steel braced frames. The exterior of the building accommodates extensive cantilevered parapets with brick curtain walls, large openings, and canopies. MP-Squared also provided the structural engineering for the light gage component of the project to minimize coordination efforts and expedite the project bidding and erection.

Rib Mountain Retail Center - Wausau, Wisconsin
MP-Squared Structural Engineers provided Structural Engineering design for this 40,000 square foot retail center. The project consists of two separate buildings designed using load bearing masonry walls, roof diaphragms, and shear walls. Some of the special features of this project included extensive cantilevered parapet walls, a 20'x20' roof opening, roof cupolas, large store front openings and covered open air entry ways.

Jannsen Office Building
MP-Squared Structural Engineers provided the structural engineering for the 24,000 square foot Jannsen Office Building located in Pewaukee, Wisconsin. The building is two-stories and is constructed with load bearing masonry shear walls, structural steel moment frames, supporting a precast slab and glulam roof trusses.

The Legend at Bergamont Clubhouse & Poolhouse
MP-Squared Structural Engineers served as the structural engineer for The Legend at Bergamont golf course's Clubhouse and Poolhouse. The Clubhouse is a two-story complex using reinforced concrete retaining walls, structural steel framing, precast suspended slab, and timber roof trusses. The elevated exterior reinforced concrete deck offers an extraordinary view of the grounds.

Jesus Christ Prince of Peace Catholic Church
MP-Squared Structural Engineers provided the structural steel design for Jesus Christ Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Clinton, Iowa. Large clear spans and many different roof planes were required to achieve the architect's vision for this project.

Coho Retail Center – Madison, WI
MP-Squared Structural Engineers designed all structural framing for this new high profile facility. Due to the amount of exterior openings, and need to keep all interior floor space open, lateral bracing was accomplished by means of eccentric moment frames in two directions. The project features include retaining walls, roof screen walls, and façade framing.

Schofield Avenue Retail Center - Wausau, WI
MP-Squared Structural Engineers provided Structural Engineering design for this 20,000 square foot new shopping center. The exterior framing was designed using load bearing masonry shear walls. The front of the structure accommodates large cantilevered parapets, large store front openings and a curved front entry way and canopy.

Cascade Asset Management
MP-Squared Structural Engineers designed a 10,000 square foot two story addition to the existing structure. Due to the expansion's geometry and open space requirements moment frames were provided for lateral stability in two directions.

Mount Horeb Retail Center
MP-Squared Structural Engineers completed the structural engineering for this new multi tenant facility. This 9000 sf building includes multiple roof lines, a 14 foot clear framing height, entryway towers, and a vast array of openings. The structural design incorporated solid sawn and engineered wood framing combined with steel support beams and moment frames or optimum erection and material cost.

Seramur Apartments
MP-Squared Structural Engineers served as the structural engineer for the Seramur Apartment complex in Plover, Wisconsin. The complex will house 28 timber framed buildings, including, two story 16-unit apartment buildings, two story 8-unit buildings, detached garages, and a Clubhouse.

New Glarus Brewing Company - "New Brewery" -
New Glarus, WI
MP-Squared provided structural engineering of all steel framing and bracing for this unique land mark building.

University of Wisconsin-Extension Pyle Center
MP-Squared Structural Engineers is currently involved in converting the existing roof framing at the Pyle Center, located on the University of Wisconsin campus, into a roof top terrace. The project includes extending two existing stair shafts, as well as the evaluation and strengthening of the existing roof framing to accommodate the new dead and live loads associated with a roof top garden and terrace.

Two Men & A Truck
MP-Squared Structural Engineers performed the structural design for Two Men & A Truck's new office and warehouse facility in Madison, WI. The facility is a 6,000 square foot timber and steel framed structure.

Delafield Square
MP-Squared Structural Engineers was called upon to complete the Structural Engineering and Construction Administration for this 4-story 78,000 square foot steel and wood framed multi use facility.

Solid Waste Transfer Station – Village of Plover, Portage County, WI
MP-Squared Structural Engineers completed the Structural Design for this 9,200 square foot facility constructed of precast concrete walls supporting long span steel roof joists with metal decking. The walls are supported by a traditional cast-in-place concrete foundation wall with a strip footing. The concrete slab-on-grade is designed to support heavy equipment loading, including the wheel loading of a garbage truck, and a top coat was applied to increase resistance to wear from the loading equipment. Special features of the building include a poured concrete "push wall" which allows heavy equipment to push the waste against the wall for loading, and an in-floor radiant heating system.

Holiday Day Inn Express
MP-Squared Structural Engineers completed the structural engineering for this three story, timber framed, 75 guest room hotel located in Sierra Vista, Arizona.

Candlewood Suites
MP-Squared Structural Engineers completed the structural engineering for this three story, timber framed, 64 guest room hotel located in Sierra Vista, Arizona.

Dane County Courthouse
MP-Squared staff member served as lead structural engineer for the structural design of the Dane County Courthouse located in Madison, Wisconsin. The courthouse is a 216,000 square foot, ten story building located just off the capitol square.

Palmer Johnson Power Systems
MP-Squared Structural Engineers completed the structural design on the new Palmer Johnson office and manufacturing facility in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. The building includes a 13,000 square foot office attached to a 60,000 square foot manufacturing facility containing numerous cranes.

Three Bears Water Park and South Multi Use Building –
Warrens, WI
MP-Squared Structural Engineers performed Structural Engineering for this 53,000 square foot Water Park and a 20,000 square foot multi use masonry building. The exterior of the waterpark is precast construction with glulam interior framing.

Holiday Inn Select – Indianapolis, IN
MP-Squared Structural Engineers staff members performed all Structural Engineering for this Water Park addition to an existing hotel. Design included building shell, mezzanine, water slide start tower and foundations.

Williamson County Jail, Georgetown, Texas
MP-Squared staff served as lead structural engineer for this four story, 52,000 square foot penal facility. Primary framing consisted of structural steel beams and columns with exterior non-load bearing masonry shear walls. The lower level of the structure included the construction of a below grade tunnel which attached the jail to the courthouse.

Elisha D. Smith Public Library, Menasha, Wisconsin
MP-Squared staff member served as lead structural engineer for the 12,000 square foot building expansion and renovation of the Elisha D. Smith public library. The expansion was a one story conventionally steel framed structure which included a two-story atrium and the installation of an elevator to access the existing second level from the new addition.

Erin Hills Golf Course - Maintenance Building– Hartford, WI
MP-Squared Structural Engineers provided structural engineering design for this timber framed 4,075 square foot facility located on the Erin Hills Golf Course.

Ashley Furniture Lumber Shed
MP-Squared Structural Engineers provided structural engineering design of framing and foundation. Project scope included development of all steel “shop” drawing for primary and secondary members to facilitate “fast-track” construction. This project replaced a PEMB due to long lead times in that industry.

Ashley Furniture Manufacturing Facility
MP-Squared Structural Engineers provided foundation design and detailing for this 72,000 square foot facility.

Moris Material Handling
MP-Squared Structural Engineers designed this independent crane support system. The frame support structure is completely independent of the building framing and can support two 25-ton bridge cranes.

Perry Printing – Baraboo, WI

Building Strengthening, Retrofit, Restoration and
Inspection Projects:

Honda Transmission Mfg
MP-Squared Structural Engineers design structural revisions for a Pre-Engineered Metal Building. for Honda Transmission Mfg of America located in Russells Point, OH. The modifications included the removal of a 60'x40' portion of the building, relocating a 9.4 kip RTU, addition of five 10'x9' overhead doors, addition of a 5'x60' canopy, addition of new soldier column and bracing revisions. MP-Squared provided all associated analysis and strengthening design, detailing and fabrication drawings.

The Abbey Resort & Spa – Lake Geneva, WI
MP-Squared Structural Engineers staff members performed extensive structural renovations at the Abbey Resort in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. The renovation included the modification of existing framing for the addition of two new lifts, the retrofit of the existing roof above the Porte Cochere to include a steeple and hipped framing, the addition of a king-post to the existing A-frame, the complete redesign of the existing pool area to accommodate organic soils, as well as a myriad of other miscellaneous structural concerns.

Badger Army Ammunition Plant
MP-Squared Structural Engineers has contracted with SpecPro Environmental Services to perform structural evaluations and strengthening designs, as required, on hundreds of existing buildings located at the Badger Army Ammunition Plant.

Fire Restoration – Richland Center, WI
MP-Squared Structural Engineers provided structural evaluation and re-design of fire damaged building. Evaluation determined which structural members required repair or replacement. MP-Squared also facilitated all drawing document development showing areas of clean up and repair of non structural components.

GM Warehouse Column Removal
MP-Squared Structural Engineers designed a 66'-0" "jack truss" to support both gravity and lateral loads to accommodate a 13'-0" high by 64'-9" wide opening in an existing wall. The addition of the opening required removing the lower 13'-0" of one load bearing column carrying over 100 kips of axial load, as well as removing two wind columns.

Pfizer Hazardous Materials Warehouse
MP-Squared Structural Engineers was retained to evaluate the effects of a sprinkler system installation to the Pfizer Hazardous Materials Warehouse located in Portage, Michigan.

Fire Restoration – Roscoe, IL
MP-Squared staff member served as a design engineer for the inspection, evaluation and redesign to the fire damaged State Line Foundry. Damaged framing included masonry and steel framing systems. Redesign include new overhead and monorail crane support system.

Erin Hills Golf Course “Old Barn” Restoration
MP-Squared Structural Engineers performed site inspection, analysis and renovation design to restore this 1890’s barn. Structures framing consists of solid sawn timbers with mortis and tendon connections. Barn is now intended to serve as a “novelty” restaurant and bar on the golf course.

Kalahari Resort Start Tower Repair
MP-Squared Structural Engineers perform an evaluation of a wood framed waterslide start tower that had experienced a partial collapse of one flight of stairs. This evaluation reviled numerous other members in serious states of distress. MP-Squared worked closely with the contractor and owner to developed creative, erectable, cost efficient solutions that could be to installed quickly to minimize structure down time.

Kalahari Resort Building Evaluation
MP-Squared Structural Engineers performed structure evaluation of a water park building. Evaluation revealed member corrosion that if had been left un-addressed could have lead to a roof collapse.

Curwood Processing – Wisconsin
MP-Squared Structural Engineers completed the strengthening design for an existing building to support the addition of several tons of new piping to be mounted on framing above the roof of this existing pre-engineered metal building. MP-Squared performed a field inspection / inventory of the existing building then developed a computer model to for the analysis of this project. MP-Squared worked close with the owner and contractor to develop the most economical and erectable design for this very successful project.
